  27. Penny M May 12, 2014 at 12:25 PM #

It’s like children, how can you pick just one designer, or one fabric or collection??? My interests in fabric are like my interests in life, widely varied. But I do love a good red collection, most things related to birds, Civil War reds and blues, especially if they are brighter ones. Sometimes I just like certain colors like blue-greens, green-blues, blues and yellows. I usually like more relaxing colors, so not too much yellow, but I never like orange at all unless it is very sparingly placed in a pink or pink/red or multi-color with pink print. I especially like Riley Blake. She is the first designer collection I bought. But I also love Michael Miller, Kaffe Fassett, Flora Bowley. I used to like more traditional decor, but my daughter is influencing me to love more modern decor, including quilts and fabrics. I really want to do a red & white quilt someday. I’m looking for the perfect red & white. I also want to do a red white & blue quilt someday, so also looking for the perfect red white & blue collection. Just when I think I am so over florals, I find the most beautiful rose prints. One fabric I wish I would’ve bought when I had the chance was a Lakehouse print with sky blue background and small red/pink roses, reminded me of my childhood, because my Mom made me a pair of shorts out of fabric like that. Pam Kitty has something very similar. I am fascinated with Paris sights, Provence Lavender fields, and a strange mix of neutrals with midtone pastels like pink, turquoise, lilac or lavender. Here’s the fabric I’m dying to buy now: http://www.equilter.com/product/160520/paris-spring-vintage-vacation-pastel-pink. It’s from Timeless Treasures’ Paris Spring Collection. And Keepsake Quilting has a fabric collection called Vivienne which I love, it’s blue, white & yellow, with a border stripe print in it. I could go on, but I think you get my drift. How can you possibly pick just one of anything when it comes to quilt fabric or designers? Oh, so many wonderful designers…

  28. Yun May 12, 2014 at 12:35 PM #

I love Michael Miller’s fabrics, very beautifully made and awesome designs. I haven’t came across any collections I love a lot. A special fabric would be solid red, a timeless color that can be used for almost everything

  29. Julie May 12, 2014 at 12:59 PM #

I don’t have a specific designer or collection. I make scrappy quilts. So just about any color or pattern will do. Thanks for the great giveaway. I could have used those blues in my last quilt. :)

  107. Morgan May 13, 2014 at 6:16 AM #

I’ve not been quilting long enough to have fully decided on a fabric that I can’t live without! However since I like to quilt mainly by colour, I guess tone-on-tone basics that read as a particular colour are the fabrics that I can’t do without! Does that count?

  108. Margaret Schindler May 13, 2014 at 6:25 AM #

I am loving Vintage happy by Lori Holt right now. I love her fabrics

  109. Marilyn May 13, 2014 at 6:59 AM #

Honestly, the fabric on my shelves now that I’ll be sorriest to see the end of is a multi-colored striped…sheet. Thrifted sheets can be a great source of fabric, and this one has featured in many of my projects. It’s so cheery and with all those colors, goes well with many other fabrics. Thanks for this chance!

My current fabric crush is Zen Chic’s fabric lines. I finished a quilt using her Barcelona for my Dad and have her Comma line stashed away for a quilt for just me. I tend to let my favorite fabrics get “properly aged” as I have stashed fat quarter bundles of Denyse Schmidt Hope Valley (one of my all time faves) and Moda Sweetwater’s Authentic. Thanks for participating in SMS giveaway day.

I went to a fabric sale that was 3 blocks away. There was 3 yards of Durango my Moda that I could not and will not giveway. There are trees and deer in a forest, maybe. I love deer and this one is a keeper, for me anyway. My favorite collection would be any fabric line by Kate Spain; and yes, she is a favorite designer of mine. Thank you for the chance to win that fat quarter bundle. I love the color blue. I am thinking of making a queen-sized quilt, for me, from the pattern called Blue Ridge Beauty from Bonnie Hunter. This will take a lot of my time and I will need all the blues I can find to buy or win.

My head might fall off from nodding in agreement with all of the comments here! I love color, and all the new stuff always catches my eye. It all needs some good neutrals, though, and I really like the look of a scrappy variety in background fabric.
